Meet the Team Behind the Haiti Tech Summit! 

CHRISTINE S. NTIM (Founder & Managing Partner) Christine Souffrant Ntim is a Haitian-American serial entrepreneur with over 7 years business management experience across 30+countries. She was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30, AdAge 40 Under 40, and Caribbean Change Makers 30 Under 30 in 2016. She speaks on leadership, disruptive entrepreneurship, and social impact at the United Nations, TEDx, European Forums and over 20+ global conferences each year. She also interviews top influencers in the Middle East as the Managing Director of Startup Grind Dubai, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs.Her entrepreneurial journey started with Vendedy a social network connecting people to street markets.  Her efforts to digitize the $10 trillion dollar street market economy has been recognized by top influencers of Singularity@NASA and Draper University.For fun, she travels and binge watches top business shows with her husband and beautiful baby girl.

DAPHNEE CHARLES (Executive Director) : Daphnee Charles is a Haiti-based agronomist who graduated two years ago from a private Haitian university “Université Quisqueya” with a scholarship from the Haitian Education and leadership Program (HELP). Daphnee majored in Agro-economics and completed a fellowship program at Dartmouth in 2010 and the Bridge Program at the Dartmouth’s Tuck BusinessSchool 2012.Daphnee is now working for a regional media NGO called “Panos Caribbean”. Panos works to amplify the voices of the poor and the marginalized through the media and ensure their inclusion in public and policy debate, in order to enable Caribbean communities and countries to articulate and communicate their own development agenda. As part of her work, Daphnee leads regular training for community leaders, civil society organizations and journalists to better communicate biodiversity and climate change concepts and raise awareness among the Haitian population and in the Caribbean region.

SMITH SAJOUS (Press Director): Smith is a freelance writer, editor, translator, speaker and radio host living in Haiti. He has received academic training in the medical field and has been instrumental in setting up a health literacy NPO. He is the co-founder and Communications Officer of Kolektif Basquiat, a cultural association promoting and democratizing urban arts to boost disadvantaged youth confidence and further social inclusion and cohesion through conferences, workshops, multicultural exchange and the staging of Haiti’s first graffiti and urban arts festival. He also served as the local PR manager in Haiti for Vendedy, a startup connecting artisans with travelers worldwide. Besides helping in the implementation of a new association aiming to tackle environmental challenges, he currently leads interviews and writes for a haitian health weekly, which is distributed every Friday by and as a complement to the country’s oldest newspaper, and whose content is also published on Haiti’s #1 daily website. Coming from a communication background, Smith has been collaborating on disruptive projects seeking to address pressing issues and bring forth innovative poverty alleviation alternatives.

GUELMA EMILE has 25 years of business experience in the USA. After several industry positions, she founded the Haitian Art shop in the Jamaica Collesseum Mall in1998. It was the most visited boutique of Haitian artwork in Queens, New York during that decade. In 2010 she spent a year in Haiti supporting the victims of the earthquake and transitioned out of the business into international development. By 2014 she helped her daughter launch Vendedy- a global network connecting consumers to street markets. The company was featured with Forbes30Under30, TEDx, UN,  the Clinton Global Initiative and IBM.Today, she is actively involved in community awareness initiatives and launched the 3 social media networks with 40,0000 followers to inspire, educate, and encourage bold life choices.
