Friday, April 13, I will speak on a panel at the US Institute of Peace regarding Haiti’s transitioning economy with Haiti’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Raymond Joseph, and Haiti Economic Officer, Elizabeth Jaffee from the US Deptartment of State.

Ostensibly, we will discuss trade preferences, debt relief, and the extensive donor support which have improved Haiti's long term economic prospects. After decades of international sanctions and economic decline is Haiti finally about to be open for business? The answer to that question will be discussed at the next meeting of the Haiti Working Group.
