While there is a long history of building closed expat/ tourist compounds in the Antilles, many have foundered on a failure to provide resources for those who would work (as opposed to retire with outside sources of income).

A business case could be made for the development of the natural harbor at Mole St Nicholas, which could become a transhipment hub for six nearby nations.
