Nice post Bryan. I am curious to know, why is it taking so long to reform the ports in Haiti? They've been talking about this for a long time now. Is it technical, money or a lack of will?
I would assume to reform the ports is a matter of documenting processes and procedures based on best practices from other countries; and putting competent people in place to follow these processes and procedures.
I just have a hard time understanding why it takes so long to reform some of the institutions that are dragging Haiti down. If we and China the largest economies can do it in a matter of months why is it difficult for a poor country like Haiti. I don't think money is not a factor because people have been sending money to Haiti for years. I think its a matter of will and that's why so many donors in the international community are so frustrated with Haiti.
