Yes, bad attitude on that dude (re: Missionaries)

Wow. I feel that if I start out by telling you I am Catholic I am immediately going to be under attack, so I will start out by saying I am a very liberal cause/tree hugging/social change/save the world kind of person and very active in these causes. I also happen to be Catholic. Often, if people I am working with on these causes find out that I am Catholic, they are shocked. I dare say that some may change their opinion of me for the worse. I truly don't get it. I think (or at least hope) that my "liberalness" leads me to be very accepting of the beliefs and opinions of others. It always blows me away when an otherwise liberal minded person goes on a rant about religion. It seems so contrary to the very nature of being liberal. (You know, accept others and their beliefs and all that.) I guess what I'm trying to say is that people of faith are as different and individual as people of color and people of Haiti. In defending the very dignity of the Haitians, please don't resort to sweeping generalizations about people of faith (even though people like "Dave" admittedly make it easy to do.) He doesn't represent all of us. Some of us are the people working next to you and you don't even know it! Ah, the human condition. We are all flawed. Doesn't mean our good works don't count, even if we annoy the Hell out of people along the way to accomplishing them. Peace Out and keep up the awesome work!
